Google 2year Photowalk scouting

Today I did take the time to scout the walk for June 29. It was supposed to be a short thing. It turned into a 3hour event and 45km bike ride (of which I will spare you most. On my way home I found a cyclist from Berlin who was lost. I did show him the way out of Geneva toward his route. He is headed to Gibraltar (he had been o the road of 10day’s).

All the pictures have been taken with the Sony HX-100 on P mode.

The total distance of the walk is 9km of which we can save some parts by hopping into public transport and the boats (they are all covered by the Geneva bus pass. Just get a day pass in Geneva or if you come by train include the city in your ticket.

In red the parts where we can take public transports to shorten the distance we have to walk

Place des Nations (The meeting point)

Close by we have :

The Botanical Garden (not a great time of the year and probably worth skipping except if many are into macro photography

La Perle du Lac (we can either walk or take the tram)

On our way there we pass really close to the Institute of Science they have some 1800’s cameras and pictures

The Quai Wilson towards Geneva

As we get closer it gets interesting(this part we could potentially skip as well by either taking the tram or boat to cross the lake

From here we can either walk over to the other side of the lake and be lazy and take the boat
There we will get the close view of the Jet d’eau

on our way back we will pass this old Boat except if it did head out for a party

The famous Flower Watch of Geneva

From here we have 4 options. Be lazy and take the tram

Walk along the River

Walk on the Street with all the high-end shops

Or take the regular shopping street

This will be our meeting point before we head into the old town

Moving up into the old town

The Canons of Geneva

The Cathedral of Geneva and my favorite statue just next to it

We are getting close to the end of the walk, La Treille de Genève and apparently the longest public bench in the world

Place de Neuve

Parc des Bastions

The Chess and Checkers Game just next to our final stop and restaurant

The Final stop for a drink and snack (just be aware that the kitchen will be closed by the time we get there
